Naughty By Nature stuns Wrestling World When they QUIT WOWF.
Naughty By Nature stunned the WOWF fan's, wrestler's, and crew April 15th, 2000 in Newbern, TN, when they announced they were QUITTING NWA- Midsouth WOWF. NBN members Rude and Tully had a WOWF Tag Title match against the New Top Gunz (Ricky Hayes and Tim White). As they were walking out to the ring, they was attacked by the New Texas Outlaws (Ricky Murdock, Austin Rhodes, and Dakota). Even after the attack they still defended their titles because they are fighting champions. Well, after the match ended the Top Gunz had won the belts. Naughty By Nature asked for a rematch, but Alvin Minnick refused to give them one. This made the guys mad. They deserved the rematch, but when they was refused they decided to walk away from WOWF. There is more to this story, it was not the first time they had been refused a title rematch. It started back before the PKO (Pokerface) entered the WOWF. Rude had won the Heavyweight Title but lost it a week later and Alvin refused to give Rude a return match. In August '99 when the PKO defeated Rude for the Jr. Heavyweight belt, once again Alvin refused to give Rude a return match. The PKO was more then willing to give Rude a return match, even though the PKO did cheat at that time to win the belt, he knew Rude was a worthy opponent. Then on April 15th, 2000 when the NBN lost the Tag Titles, Alvin once again refused to grant them a return match. So the screw job has been going on between NBN and Alvin for sometime now. So with every thing going on the Guy's decided they would not wrestle for a company that was trying to hold them down. Now you know the REAL REASON on why the best tag team in WOWF quit.
Why has Alvin refused to give them return matches? Is it because he knows if they get the return match that they WILL take the belt's back? Is it because he is knows that these guy's will make it big, so he is trying every thing in his power to hold them down? The answer's, well we might never know. BUT one thing is for sure IF or WHEN the Naughty By Nature guy's decide to return to the WOWF it will be under their TERMS and their RULES. And Alvin better be watching his back.
